There are very few universal constants in photography, but one of those universal constants is the use of UV filters to protect the objective element of expensive lenses. I know of very few photographers that don't use these in one fashion or another.
I got this in 82mm, which fits my Canon 24-70 f2.8 II perfectly. The overwhelming majority of my lenses are 77mm, but I get most filters in 82mm because of my 24-70, and use 82-77mm step-down rings for most of my filters. It actually helps avoid vignetting on my 77mm lenses, anyway, so it's a good idea to step up in filter sizes if you like to "stack em deep", lol.
The quality of the filter is, frankly, excellent. I've certainly paid more for filters that weren't as good as this, so there are no complaints on quality whatsoever. The threads are smooth and well machined, and it spins on and off effortlessly.
Like most UV filters, the color shift is negligible, if it exists at all, and being high quality optical glass, I could detect no distortion in the image. The main thing it does, which is protect the objective element of my lens, it does beautifully.
As someone that has as much invested in filters as many people have invested in their entire camera setup, I'm very picky about filters. They have to be good, and if they're not good, they get tossed. This is a fantastic UV filter that is worth the cost. At around $80 for the 82mm version, it's worth every penny. Highly recommended.

Always struggled with that harsh digital look that makes everything appear too clinical and sterile, so when I heard about black diffusion filters I decided to try this K&F Concept one. The difference it makes is honestly incredible and has become an essential part of my setup.
The 1/4 strength creates this beautiful soft glow around lights that immediately makes footage look more cinematic and professional. I tested it during a recent shoot at a local restaurant with dim lighting and the results were amazing, all those point light sources got this dreamy halo effect that would have taken hours to recreate in post-production. The filter also does wonders for close-up shots of people by naturally smoothing skin tones without making everything look artificially soft.
What surprised me most is how well the anti-reflective coating works, I expected some issues with flare or ghosting but even shooting directly into bright windows didn't cause problems. The build quality feels really solid too with smooth threading that doesn't stick or cross-thread when mounting. For anyone doing portrait or narrative video work, this filter adds so much character that you'll wonder how you managed without it.

I was really surprised to see this filter was crystal clear and clean right out of the box. Other filters I have used have been dusty or foggy before first use. The filter has a low profile and the outside of the filter ring is very easy to grip. This makes it simple to screw on to the lens and remove it. I didn't notice any reduction in photo quality while using this filter. Very happy with the K&F brand and would recommend to all of my photographer friends.

I tested this Black-Mist 1/4 filter in several sessions both indoors and outdoors, and the change was evident from the first shot. The image gains a more cinematic look, with diffused lights and smooth transitions that give it a professional touch. In portraits, it helps to soften the skin naturally without losing detail in the eyes or in key areas.
The assembly was simple thanks to the brass frame, which is screwed together without looseness or strange friction. I've used it in night recordings and in shots with strong lighting, and it achieves an interesting balance between softening reflections and maintaining overall contrast. In addition, the coating really prevents fingerprints or drops of water from accumulating, which is very useful if you work outside.

This filter is from K&F Concepts' premium filter range. The company also offers a budget range. I have bought several filters and other gear from K&F, as they represent good value for money.
At AUD 78, this premium filter isn't cheap but is more affordable than premium filters from different brands.
I like to find a sweet spot between price and quality. Doubling the price doesn't necessarily make something twice as good. As a non-professional, punching above my weight and using extraordinary gear, I am satisfied with good-enough filters. At the very least, these K&F Nano filters are good enough and plausibly far better.
I installed the filter on my Sony FE 40mm f2.5 (see the attached images), which has a 49mm thread. One can fit filters directly on the lens, with the lens hood detached, or directly on the lens cap. I have chosen the latter because I want to retain the hood.. I probably don't need a UV filter on this lens as its unusual lens hood encloses the glass. The OEM lens cap fits snugly in the filter housing, so I'll leave the UV filter on.

This UV filter is pretty nice! It seems comparable to my other name brand UV filters. I typically buy Hoya ones, and this one sees every bit as good. It's nice and clear, and does not add any additional glare or reflections to my pictures. And it fits accurately on a 77mm filter thread.
Honestly, no real difference between this and the lens without the filter, which is kind of the point! And no real difference between this and other top quality filters.

I ordered the Neewer 82mm Black Mist 1/4 filter for my Nikon lens and think it is well made. The filter fits perfectly and the housing around the glass is made of brass.
I also like that the filter is delivered in a narrow, sturdy storage box and storage case. This allows you to pack it away and transport it well protected. By the way, the box can also be used as a picture frame. I think that's a good, modern and stylish idea.
But back to the real thing. With the filter, the lights in the background look a bit more diffuse and get a slight glow. This creates an atmospheric atmosphere, which I really like. I mainly use the filter for portraits.
I was impressed by my new lens accessories and I like to use them. I've earned five stars.

This K&F black mist filter is awesome - The optical clarity is really good and it comes with a nice, plastic-free case to keep the lens in. Black Mist filters are great to create a nice and soft cinematic look. The body is well machined. From previous experiences with this brand, their customer support is awesome and their products last a long time - I still have lens filters from 5 years ago that work like new! They're pretty scratch resistant as well. I would honestly not choose anything but K&F concept lens filters at this point, they make awesome stuff and I'm really happy about receiving this - I can confidently recommend this!

This UV filter is a solid choice, offering both protection and ease of use. The case is quite large—possibly oversized—but it has thoughtful elements like foam notches on one side to accommodate almost any filter. It also includes a vacuum-sealed wipe, though I haven’t opened it yet.
One standout feature is the ease of installation. The filter has two notches positioned 180 degrees apart, making it much easier to screw on and off compared to others I’ve used. With some filters, I’ve struggled to get enough grip and had to resort to using my flat palm, but that’s not an issue here.
I purchased this as a simple insurance policy for my lens, and past experience has shown that UV filters can be a real lifesaver. Overall, I’m happy with this and would recommend it to others looking for a filter with practical features.

I got this for protection while traveling and bringing my RF 28-70 f2 lens. It’s well-made, doesn’t feel like it will bend, and does not have any negative optical effects that I can see.
