Trying out new filters is so much fun and exciting and filters from K&F are some of the best filters that I have ever used and this black mist filter doesnt disappoint and I'm so happy to have it in my collection. I did size up to an 82mm lens and I use an K&F step up rings set when using this filter on a smaller lens.
This filter is extremely clear and well made. The glass feels durable and even with using it and taking it out if my bag, sitting my camra down. I don't worry about small marks and scratches because of how durable the glass is. Its extremely easy to put on my camera and take it off. It only takes seconds to put it on and take it off. It does offer mild protection to your camera lens. It wasn't mean to work that way but in small accidents it may offer protection to your expensive glass. It functions beautifully.
The images come out so clear and beautiful. It softly blurs all the edges and allows you capture soft blurry photos and videos. I experienced extremely mild darkness around the edges but it looks like a style choice and unless you know what you are looking at you most likely won't notice it.
It comes with a gorgeous and sturdy storage pouch that will protect your filter while its in your bag or while you are traveling. Its extremely well made. It fits beautifully and tight onto my camera. I don't worry about it mistakenly falling off while using it. Its a good value when adding gear to your camera collection.

K&F Concept filters are great, made from really good quality materials with clear optics.
They're not the cheapest, but the old "you get what you pay for" saying fits here.
You get a really handy plastic case for it too which makes travelling with more than one filter much easier.
Fits on my Sigma 24-70mm lens no problem and you can still use the lens cap and hood as you would normally.
UV filters are a great way to protect your lens and reduce reflection, increasing detail.
Great filter

In everything I'm going to say below, there are sample images.
I'll start by saying that the package it comes in is very well presented and complete.
It comes with the typical vacuum-sealed microfiber cloth and the solid case that holds the ring, plus you can store other filter sizes in it.
Regarding the filter, I zoomed in and looked at the sharpest areas, confirming that the loss of quality is minimal or nonexistent, meaning it's a very good option for keeping the lens protected.
Although it surprised me, since you might expect a UV filter to lose some brightness (even if it's very small), the opposite happened. As you can see in the histogram of the photos I've posted, the brightness increases slightly, even giving me zebra in some areas of the curtain. A curious phenomenon.
Interestingly, when it arrived, it was so clean that the glass was barely visible; it looked like an adapter ring. I also didn't notice any color drift or any kind of tint. You can see in a backlit photo of my hand holding the filter that it doesn't change.
I've had several products from this brand, and they're reliable, just like this one. I would definitely buy it again.

This K&F 1/4 black mist filter has impressed me with both performance and build quality. The 0.15% reflectivity makes a noticeable difference in reducing glare and ghosting, especially when shooting in bright light. Images look clearer, and highlights are much more controlled. The cinematic effect is beautiful too. It softens skin tones just enough to give photos and videos a smooth, polished look without losing detail or contrast.
The brass frame feels solid and fits the lens perfectly. It’s easy to attach and remove, and the material adds an extra layer of shock absorption that cheaper aluminum frames don’t offer. The multi-layer coatings are a big plus as well. They keep fingerprints and water spots under control, and cleaning is quick. For anyone who shoots portraits, weddings, or creative video, this filter adds that professional, dreamy touch without much effort. Price is what it is but I am surprised K&F is making great products these days

There are very few universal constants in photography, but one of those universal constants is the use of UV filters to protect the objective element of expensive lenses. I know of very few photographers that don't use these in one fashion or another.
I got this in 82mm, which fits my Canon 24-70 f2.8 II perfectly. The overwhelming majority of my lenses are 77mm, but I get most filters in 82mm because of my 24-70, and use 82-77mm step-down rings for most of my filters. It actually helps avoid vignetting on my 77mm lenses, anyway, so it's a good idea to step up in filter sizes if you like to "stack em deep", lol.
The quality of the filter is, frankly, excellent. I've certainly paid more for filters that weren't as good as this, so there are no complaints on quality whatsoever. The threads are smooth and well machined, and it spins on and off effortlessly.
Like most UV filters, the color shift is negligible, if it exists at all, and being high quality optical glass, I could detect no distortion in the image. The main thing it does, which is protect the objective element of my lens, it does beautifully.
As someone that has as much invested in filters as many people have invested in their entire camera setup, I'm very picky about filters. They have to be good, and if they're not good, they get tossed. This is a fantastic UV filter that is worth the cost. At around $80 for the 82mm version, it's worth every penny. Highly recommended.

I was really surprised to see this filter was crystal clear and clean right out of the box. Other filters I have used have been dusty or foggy before first use. The filter has a low profile and the outside of the filter ring is very easy to grip. This makes it simple to screw on to the lens and remove it. I didn't notice any reduction in photo quality while using this filter. Very happy with the K&F brand and would recommend to all of my photographer friends.

The K&F CONCEPT 82mm Black Diffusion 1/4 Filter is perfect for adding a soft, cinematic look to videos, vlogs, or portrait photography. It’s easy to use, fits securely, and the 36 multi-layer coatings ensure no color degradation. The quality of the material feels very solid, and the included storage case is excellent for keeping the filter safe and organized. Overall, it’s durable, reliable, and a great value for the price. Using this filter with a Sigma lens.

This filter is from K&F Concepts' premium filter range. The company also offers a budget range. I have bought several filters and other gear from K&F, as they represent good value for money.
At AUD 78, this premium filter isn't cheap but is more affordable than premium filters from different brands.
I like to find a sweet spot between price and quality. Doubling the price doesn't necessarily make something twice as good. As a non-professional, punching above my weight and using extraordinary gear, I am satisfied with good-enough filters. At the very least, these K&F Nano filters are good enough and plausibly far better.
I installed the filter on my Sony FE 40mm f2.5 (see the attached images), which has a 49mm thread. One can fit filters directly on the lens, with the lens hood detached, or directly on the lens cap. I have chosen the latter because I want to retain the hood.. I probably don't need a UV filter on this lens as its unusual lens hood encloses the glass. The OEM lens cap fits snugly in the filter housing, so I'll leave the UV filter on.

I’ve used a handful of diffusion filters over the years, and I really like the ones from K&F Concept I picked this up mostly for portrait work and some night street photography.
The effect is subtle but noticeable. It softens highlights just enough to give that dreamy, cinematic glow without turning everything into a foggy mess. Street lights, candles, even harsh LED signs get a nice bloom that feels organic. It’s great for video too, and adds that texture without needing post-production filters.
Build-wise, it’s solid. The frame is ultra-slim, so no vignetting even on my wide-angle lens. It screws on smoothly and doesn’t feel cheap, which is more than I can say for some filters in this price range. I also appreciate that it doesn’t mess with color balance, no weird tints or shifts, just clean diffusion.
One thing to note: if you’re expecting a heavy mist effect, this isn’t that. It’s more of a 1/4 strength softener, which is perfect for keeping detail while still smoothing out harsh edges. If you want something stronger, you might want to look at the 1/2 version.
Overall, for the price, this filter punches way above its weight. It’s great for portraits, vlogs, and nighttime city shots. If you’re chasing that “cinematic” look without breaking the bank, this is a solid pick. The only thing I wish was included is a lens cover. I have to remove this to put my lens cover on, they should make these with covers.

This UV filter is pretty nice! It seems comparable to my other name brand UV filters. I typically buy Hoya ones, and this one sees every bit as good. It's nice and clear, and does not add any additional glare or reflections to my pictures. And it fits accurately on a 77mm filter thread.
Honestly, no real difference between this and the lens without the filter, which is kind of the point! And no real difference between this and other top quality filters.
