This type of battery is probably one of my favorite newer camera accessory tech that came out in the last few years. Now that a lot of cameras don't come with a separate battery charger, since they can change in-camera, these are a perfect way to charge a spare at the same time be it at home through a dedicated charger or computer, or on the go with a laptop or power bank. They of course still charge in a dedicated battery charger.

Now back to this specific K&F version. It charges at around 10W so its among the faster charging batteries of this type. The cheaper alternatives charge at 5W speeds, so takes significantly longer to top off. It is also the nicest looking battery in my opinion; the brown and the blue ones are more eye catching for better or for worse but these look great. Honestly I don't really care about the color too much but manufacturers like to flex it as a selling point so... And finally, although it doesn't quite last as long as the original batteries these do manage to last a more than adequate amount of time. Knowing it is from K&F you also do get the peace of mind of a quality battery, unlike some of the weird, random branded traditionally charging third party batteries that are super inexpensive.

Now for my one complaint with this battery, it would be the location of the charging port. Most of the other USB-C charging batteries for other camera brands have the charging port at one of the extremities, usually on the opposite end of the actual pins of the battery. This one is on the effectively bottom side of the battery. It still works but I feel it is slightly less convenient sometimes... this is purely a matter of preference though, and considering SmallRig's version also charges at the same location this might be a limitation to the internal structure of the EN-EL15C.

Overall, this is an excellent choice for USB-C rechargeable batteries for your Nikon.

Second time getting a K&F Concept battery for my cameras. This time I picked up EN-EL15C battery. No issues with my Nikon Z8, Z6 or Z7. Works just fine without any error messages. Cheaper option when buying extra batteries for the cameras. You are able to charge them with your regular charger or via USB-C which comes in handy when you already have several other products that are using USB-C like your cell phone & headphone. I am able to use this battery without issues when shooting 20 fps on my Nikon Z8. If you are in the market for something that cost less and works just as good as the OEM, this is one does it.

I've tried a few K&F camera accessories and all have been well-designed, great quality and well-priced.

This battery ticks all those boxes too. And I love this type of battery - I have the Smallrig version too, this one is equally good. It should only be a matter of time before Nikon realise that they need to adapt the OEM batteries to allow for direct USB charging like this - means one less thing to pack when going on a trip.

Recognised immediately by my Z7 and Z8. Seems to last as long as the OEM versions too.

And I like the distinctive colour scheme!

Great USB-C chargeable battery for Nikon cameras. I'm not sure if it will work with the latest cameras with authentication chips, but it works great in my D7000; I no longer have to carry around a bulky charger with me and can just use it with any USB-C charger. Battery life also seems good. Overall a nice battery.

Perhaps the biggest “selling” point of this battery is the fact that it can be charge via the included USB-C cable, meaning you can charge this battery via a charger, a computer or laptop, or even a car with a USB-C charging port. The battery has more capacity than the Nikon EN-El 15C battery (7.2V and 2600mAh, vs 7V, 2280mAh) so it should last longer for photos and video. It has various protections, including temperature, over-voltage, over-discharge, over-current, over-charger and short-circuit protection. Finally, it’s fully decoded for a number of Nikon DSLR and mirrorless cameras but not the Nikon Z f or Nikon Z6 III.

Whenever you buy third party batteries, you should also keep in mind that Nikon, or any camera company, can always release new firmware for their cameras that might affect the compatibility with third-party batteries. But they remain a good value when compared to the original battery.

This battery works incredibly well with my camera, offering extended usage times that are noticeably better than standard options. While it’s undoubtedly a quality product, it might not be the most budget-friendly option out there. That said, if you’re looking for reliable performance and longevity, it’s definitely worth the investment. A solid choice for anyone serious about their photography gear.

I got this battery for use with my Nikon D500 and D7100 DSLR bodies.

The main attraction of this battery for me was the ability to charge directly via USB C port on the battery. And it works fantastically well. Why don't all DSLR batteries include this feature??

The battery feels robustly made in terms of construction quality.

The battery works just as well for me in both my Nikon DSLRs as the originals do. It also has a fair bit more juice built in with its 2600mAh capacity rating. There are no problems with my cameras interpreting the remaining battery levels or battery age so compatibility is good.

On the face of it, the price point may seem a little high for a 3rd party battery, however it is a good quality battery, plus the USB charging convenience and additional capacity make it good value for money in my opinion.

Like any K&F product I have ever5 ordered this doesn't disappoint, it is recognised by my charger - you would be surprised how often 3rd party batteries are rejected - charges at a decent rate and performs as far as I can tell inline with the OEM batteries.

Love the fact that this can be charged via a regular USB cable and it is not a gimmick it performs well in the camera and getting excellent battery life so far. Very happy with it.
