I had low expectations but it turns out this monopod is perfect for my 10x42 binoculars (adapters purchased separately). I'm 5'7" tall, and I use this star gaze as well as for some terrestrial viewing; with the binocular attachment (adds a couple inches), I'm able to comfortably point the binoculars at both earthbound targets and celestial targets. Naturally, if you point your binoculars at zenith, you're going to have a problem, but a more expensive monopod wouldn't fix that.The alternative I was looking at was a $200 monopod, so I used the $180 I saved on some new telescope gear. ;)

I had lost the rod/monopod center section on a Sunpak 7500 TM which is no longer available. Fortunately I was able to modify this monopod using it as the center shaft to restore my tripod to usefulness.

The quality is great, and stability is very good for the price, would recommend it!

I am getting older so this kf concept Basic monopod allows me to cover some of my B-roll DSLR video needs without lugging a full tripod all the time. You have to do your part vis-a-vis remaining still, but this was well worth the price.

Note that it doesn’t come with anything your phone can attach to. You’ll have to buy that separate
