Bought this to photograph the eclipse. Took great pictures as expected. Now it goes in the bag for the next 20 years or whatever. Very happy with filter. Maybe could photograph welding or something!

I needed a solar filter once we decided we'd try to view the April, 2024 solar eclipse...weather permitting...since I have replaced both the camera and the lens that I used for the previous eclipse (2017). Weather permitted, and the filter worked well. Can't really say the same for the camera + lens (focus issues that I occasionally have, even without a filter), but the solar filter worked well. I appreciated the lack of colorization of the sun (it looks light gray in the properly-exposed images, while my previous filter made the sun look orange or yellow orange). Sunspots were visible, too, so I may use the filter occasionally for sunspot photos in the future. The filter can also be useful with or without a camera to view very bright lights. The filter came with a nice hard-plastic protective case that is easy to use. It also included a couple of cleaning cloths that I haven't used, so can't really describe here.

Worked perfectly for taking photos of the solar eclipse. This was on a 70-300mm IS lens attached to a Canon R5. Able to locate and track easily, only trouble I had was operator error.

This is one of those things you don't use often, but when you need it, you NEED it. I wanted to protect our rather pricey camera when filming/photoing the exclipse, and this did a great job. Very happy.

This is a very nice quality filter, at a reasonable price. It screws off and on the lens easily. No binding. I used it for the 4/8/24 solar eclipse. It did a very nice job. Optical experts don’t recommend using an ND filter for photographing to sun. ND filters, while maybe dark enough, don’t filter out some eye damaging wave lengths of light. If using an SLR camera, this could be important. I was viewing on a LCD monitor so I wasn’t actually viewing the sun directly. No problem there.
I could clearly see sun spots with as great a resolution as my camera would capture. A solar filter I had would smudge the sun spots to the point they were just dark spots. This ND filter was superior in creating image quality. I haven’t tried using this ND filter for making long exposures of normal scenes. That’s where image quality might be even more important. So far, I’m very happy.

Just used this filter to catch the eclipse and it worked perfectly!
A filter with this many stops of nd is a necessity for taking pictures and/or videos of the sun, and this one worked great!
Super dark and the optics are nice and clean.
Threads are smooth and it's very well made. K&F makes some really nice filters!

Was great for the eclipse, too bad the clouds did not cooperate. Don't know what I would use it for besides Sun Photos.

I bought this filter for capturing photos of the Sun with my camera and it works great and fits my camera perfectly!!!
