55mm Solar Filter ND1000000,20-Stop Solid Neutral Density Filter Celestial Event Photography Filter with 28 Multi-Layer Coatings Nano-Xcel Series
SKU: KF01.2577V1
K&F are stepping up their game with their Nano-X line of filters and this 20-stop neutral density filter is no exception. It's a high quality filter from a trusted photographic company.
With 28 layers of multi-coating to reduce flare and protect the surface, it's a professional filter for professional results. The filter lets very little light pass through - allowing you to make very long exposures.

This worked out great for the eclipse. Only wish i could use it more. Fits great in my Tamron Lenses.

I got this filter and it took me a bit of experimentation to make it work. First, it is important to remember that this filter is for shooting the sun and it is exceptionally dark (which is good because the sun is exceptionally bright). I put the filter on the camera (A Canon EOS T3I with a 250 mm image-stabilized telephoto lens) and could see nothing until I was able to find the sun in a totally black field of view. I took the picture, looked at it on my computer and saw a white circle on a black field. As I thought about this, I realized that the automatic systems were being overwhelmed with so much black and a small very bright object in the center. I shifted the camera to manual and after much experimentation, found that setting the F-Stop to 10 and the shutter speed to 1/400 produced an image where I could see details such as sunspots on the face of the sun. When you get it to this point, it is an exceptional product but it is not something you can just slap on a camera and get the desired results.

I bought two different sizes. They are well crafted, fit the lenses well and performed admirably.

I bought this ND filter so I could photograph the Eclipse on 04.08.2024. It worked great.

Used this during the eclipse even though we were only in the partial. Seemed to work just fine. Threaded onto my lens with no problem and blocked more than enough light that I was able to pick up the solar flares on the surface of the sun.

The robot wants to know how these are for landscape photography. The robot is an idiot. There is only one reason most people will want a filter that lets only one millionth of the light thru, and that is to view the sun safely! This filter fits perfectly on my Televue Ranger telescope, a little 70mm refractor that happens to be rigged for 77mm camera filter threads.
I screwed it in, took it outside, pointed it at the sun, and wow, do the sunspots show up nicely. If this prospect excites you and you have a telescope or telephoto lens a ND1000000 filter will fit, get one. And remember where you put it when the next eclipse comes around.

Thanks to this great filter I was able to get some nice shots of the solar eclipse. I can't wait to use it again in about 375 years. I hope I'll remember where I put it!

Works really well for the solar eclipse. Protected my camera, gave very good picture quality and was relatively cheap too.

I was prepping for the total eclipse and realized that I didn't have a filter for the lens I was going to use. I got it quickly and it worked as expected.
