Update 1/26/2024 - an acquaintance asked about the lack of ISO-12312-2 certification in this ND filter, because he read a review that stated it was important. The ISO-12312-2 standard is meant ONLY for DIRECT VIEWING type glasses. It does NOT apply to to camera filter, as such you will not likely find that ISO cert on solar camera ND filters.

This filter does what it's advertised to do, reduce light by about 16.6 stops so you can safely take pictures of the Sun without damaging your sensor or your sight. I've included a quick test picture, sorry focus could be better. This is a good solar filter for a reasonable price.

This filter is designed to make it so you can take pictures of solar activities! And it is DARK! It does the job well. The construction is a nice solid with a good weight. Screwes into my lens effortlessly. They did a great job putting it together. Get your hands on one now before they all disappear for the solar eclipse this year!

So got this for this Aprils main event.
Testing as you can see in the photo shows the Roy G Biv outline
Very pleased
On one note I have a 55mm and It was tight but had a tiny hindrance of wiggle, I dont think its enough
for light influx but something to note.
DARK and mm is a split hair off

Very good ND filter with sufficient strength to photograph directly into the sun.

An amazing filter that allows you to extend exposure times dramatically. In sunny conditions, at f/5 and ISO 100, you get almost exactly 1 minute. Under overcast skies, you need to expose at either ISO 250 or a correspondingly longer time. This way, you can capture the movement of clouds, for example, and add unexpected dynamics to the image. I couldn't detect a color cast, but that wouldn't be a problem with RAW. I'm thrilled!

Took this with me to Texas for the April 2024 eclipse. I couldn't get one for my usual 18-55 lens in time so I went with this one for my wide angle one. Got some great photos!
