49mm MCUV Filter Brass Frame Multifunctional HD Ultra-Thin Brass Frame 36-Layer Anti-Reflection Green Film Nano-Xcel Pro Series
SKU: KF01.2301
This is the flagship series from K&F, so if you want the absolute best filter they produce, this is it. It has a brass ring, which is slightly harder than aluminum. That makes it more resilient to binding on the threads, and makes the filter itself feel much nicer in the hand. It has inner and outer threading, so I can stack filters, or clip my lens cap directly to it. That's great for me as I don't have to ever take this filter off. The main point of this filter for me is protection, and it's so much nicer having a high end piece of glass to put on my high end lens rather than most UV filters that are a piece of plastic. I tried to make it produce flares, and I couldn't get any. This is the closest thing to a perfect UV filter that I've ever used. I also really like the design of the case. It has a pull string on the side that'll push the filter out so I don't have to worry about getting fingerprints on it. Overall a very high end filter. Highly recommended.

With modern cameras, the use of a UV filter is actually no longer necessary. I therefore use the UV filter more to protect the front lens against scratches and dirt. I did not observe the often-reported reduced image performance (when using filters), so protecting the expensive lens is more important to me. I did not notice any color differences thanks to the multi-coating. However, I also did not notice any improvement in contrast or sharpness, but this is more due to the good coating of my lens and the use on a modern DSLM. This will probably be different on an "old" analog camera. Unfortunately, I was unable to test this because I do not have a lens with a suitable filter diameter. Thanks to its slim brass mount, the filter can also be used on wider wide-angle lenses. I use the filter with a 24-70mm lens on full-frame. Due to its design, the minimum focal length should be around 17mm on full-frame. The mount is cleanly manufactured and fits well into the thread on the lens. The filter comes well packaged in a sturdy leather case. Once the filter and case are removed, the outer packaging can also be used as a picture frame. Included is a stand and a cleaning cloth for the filter. Everything feels very high-quality and expensive.

received the K&M UV filter for free to test as part of the Vine program. I was delighted to receive it, as I no longer have a suitable UV filter for my always-on lens. Even the packaging is very high-quality, and the included bag is very well-designed and easy to handle. You can even make a pretty frame out of the packaging. A microfiber cloth for cleaning is also included. With digital cameras, UV filters are essentially no longer necessary, as the sensor itself is already protected from UV radiation, and the optics don't have to perform as much as with analogue technology. Lens hoods are sufficient to protect the lens. Furthermore, they don't add another layer of glass to the lens, which generally results in a loss of quality. However, the lens isn't protected from dust particles or grains of sand. Since I often lie on the floor when taking portraits, and it's often quite dusty, I still like to use it in these situations. I haven't noticed any negative effects on my images so far. A truly high-quality filter at a reasonable price.

Objectively speaking, one might wonder what exactly justifies this price: a filter that many photographers use only as "lens protection," and whose effect is usually not even visible in the photos. But this line of reasoning, in my opinion, falls short. The Chinese manufacturer K&F (or Kentfaith) is no longer a cheap provider. Its product range, and thus its expertise, includes not only UV filters but also other filters (CPL, NDF, etc.). Thus, this filter comes from a group that puts a lot of thought into how to build even better filters. And you can tell that with this X-Pro filter even from the packaging:

If I'm honest, I've always relied on established brand manufacturers such as B&W or Rodenstock when it comes to filters. I do have a few filters from Kase and K&F in my inventory, but I hadn't really considered Asian manufacturers when it comes to filters. And that's exactly what K&F wants to change with the Nano-X Pro series

The K&F UV filter comes in very attractive, high-quality packaging. The packaging also includes an additional leather case with a magnetic closure. A strap helps you pull the filter out of the case, so you don't have to touch the glass with your fingers. The filter is easy to attach; the thread is excellently crafted; the filter glides smoothly through the thread when screwed on. There's nothing to complain about in the photos; the quality is still top-notch. I give this fantastic, high-quality UV filter 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The K&F UV filter comes in a beautifully made box, which is then wrapped in plastic for protection. As a little gimmick, the insert and an enclosed cardboard part can be used as a small picture frame, if desired. The lens itself is stored in an anti-scratch bag in the storage case. This is an eye-catcher in itself, made of genuine leather and really well made. It also comes with a sealed microfiber cloth for cleaning and removing dust before installation. The filter screwed onto the lens without any problems; there was no jamming or wobbling; simply well-made. Whether a UV filter is necessary on a DSLR camera is a matter of debate. Let's put it this way: I haven't noticed any negative effects on the images so far. Especially with the 82mm lens size, the asking price of around €150 quickly becomes relative. Better a scratch on a filter than a scratch on the lens, which would require an expensive replacement.

I ordered the K&F Concept Nano-X PRO series UV filter to use with the Pentax HD DA★11-18mm F2.8 ED DC AW lens. I generally use my high-quality lenses without a UV filter. Ultimately, every additional piece of glass in the optical path impairs the quality. But in dusty weather or even in the rain, using a UV filter is definitely a good idea, as you can then dry the filter with a cloth or remove any dust. If the filter gets scratched, the front element of the lens is still undamaged. Now, to the filter. The K&F Concept Nano-X PRO series UV filter comes in rather elaborate packaging. The filter is in a pouch, part of which is even made of real leather. The closure is magnetic. There is a strap on the side of the pouch. If you pull this strap, the filter slides out of the pouch. Also included is a cleaning cloth and a cardboard stand (?). I don't understand the point of this. Perhaps it's intended for display purposes by dealers? The filter is "Made in China." There's a German importer's address on the box. The filter easily attaches to my Pentax HD DA.★ 11-18mm F2.8 ED DC AW lens. There's nothing to complain about. The Pentax HD DA★ The 11-18mm F2.8 ED DC AW lens is not shaded by the filter. The workmanship of the filter is also really good. I took a few test photos with and without the filter and did not notice any negative effects. Under normal conditions I don't think the image result will deteriorate much. There might be problems with light reflections in backlit photos if the sun is at the right angle. But that would be a general problem with filters on lenses. Conclusion: The filter is really good. The current price of €149 for the 82mm filter is certainly anything but a bargain. Ultimately it doesn't make sense to buy a lens for around €1500 and then screw a cheap filter onto the lens, which then leads to poorer image quality. I give the filter 5 stars.

reviewed: “K&F Concept Nano-X PRO Series UV Filter 77mm, Slim Flagship MCUV Filter Protective Filter” The filter came well packaged in elegant outer packaging. Even its exclusive appearance aroused curiosity about the filter. After opening it, an elegant, very cleanly crafted leather filter protective cover is revealed. This has a folding mechanism that closes securely and cleanly with a magnet. On the side of this protective cover there is a fabric flag. If you pull on this, the filter comes partially out of the cover via the pull-out function, so that it can be removed very easily and without risk of damage. The filter is packaged again in a foil bag upon delivery. Inside the packaging there is also a microfiber cleaning cloth. After completely unpacking the filter, you can attest to its equally high-quality and clean workmanship. The filter is free of manufacturing or material defects. The thread of the filter screws onto the lens very easily. The manufacturer states 0.01 mm processing accuracy. You can feel this during assembly. Absolutely nothing wobbles here. This means that neither wide-angle nor telephoto lenses are impaired in their original performance. Everything works perfectly. The result is impressive. From now on, my high-quality telephoto lens will be very well protected and, thanks to this UV filter, which guarantees 99.9% light transmission, it will be optimally equipped for fantastic shots without any loss of image quality. The filter has a double-sided 36-layer nano-coating. The 0.15% reflectivity of the filter ensures the aforementioned good light transmission. This greatly reduces stray light and prevents further glare. The filter is also waterproof, dirt-resistant, and scratch-resistant. The filter is also extremely lightweight with a very thin brass frame. This frame shows the type, manufacturer, function, and serial number of the filter. Conclusion: A high-end filter from K&F that impresses with extremely good workmanship and high quality. A clear purchase recommendation despite the very high price. I rate the product 5 stars. Thank you for reading my review, I hope it was helpful to someone.
