This review evaluates the “360° 4-Way 4.3-inch Articulating Fiber Optic Borescope Camera with Light (3.3FT Flexible Cable)” made by Kentfaith.

The product was shipped with no excessive or wasteful packaging and all components were contained snugly in a form-fitted molded plastic case. What’s in the box: one (1) 4.3in HD Borescope inspection camera head, (1) one 3.3 ft endoscope camera cable, (1) USB-C to USB-A data cable, (1) one removable 32GB micro SD card (installed in the unit), magnet, (1) one microfiber lens cloth, (1) one form-fitted blow molded plastic case, and an owner’s manual.

First impressions: Wow, I’m thoroughly impressed. Upon opening the box I immediately saw that it came in a decent, plastic form-fitted case! I will say that this impressed me right off the jump. My biggest pet peeve is getting a tool kit that has multiple pieces and it is sold with either no case or a flimsy one. I hate trying to adapt some toolbox or Tupperware to suit my needs. I WILL ALWAYS PAY EXTRA FOR SUCH A CASE! It is so nice to pull out a complete kit to “go into battle” and get a breakdown fixed.

This diagnostic unit is light commercial/industrial grade; well-built with a large 4.3" HD colour IPS screen and a 3.3-foot-long fiber optic ¼” endoscope camera. Right out of the box, the unit feels quality-made, indicative of a professional tool. The unit is powered by two removable rechargeable lithium-ion batteries totaling 5,200mAh giving the user up to 6 hours of runtime. The batteries are rechargeable via a 5V/1.2A or greater USB-A charging block (not included). The USB-C charging port and ON/OFF button are located on the right-hand side of the screen bezel The micro-SD port is located on the left-hand side of the screen bezel. The camera head is attached to an IP67 water resistant 3.3 foot long, fiber optic armored cable with a 0.244” diameter 6 LED illuminated 1.0MP FHD camera head. This endoscope head can be submerged in liquids within operating temperatures of 22°F-118°F and has adjustable brightness and the ability to view 360 degrees. It takes crystal clear 1.0MP pictures and 1080p video @ 30fps. The configuration/layout of this unit is very intuitive and not overly complicated. My only complaint is that the handgrip has no texture or non-slip grip; if you have wet or oily hands/gloves, this could be an issue!

I am evaluating this product as part of the Kentfaith Vine program so I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review. In order to verify the durability of this product, I am going to monitor this product and its performance over the next 8-12 months of use and revise my review should problems arise.

Cost-effectiveness and value: Overall I am very satisfied with the product; it is well-made, comprehensive, and very easy to use. It has 1,001 uses and is an excellent addition for either a tradesman or a homeowner. At a current price of $399.99 (plus a $140 off coupon), I feel that this product is very competitively priced for the quality and advanced functionality delivered.

In summary: the “360° 4-Way 4.3-inch Articulating Fiber Optic Borescope Camera with Light (3.3FT Flexible Cable)” made by Kentfaith is very well-made and delivers excellent results at a price that doesn’t break the bank. This is a welcome, must-have addition for a tradesman or home mechanic/handyman whether you’re a novice or a professional. I would recommend this product without reservation.

I have never used a borescope and had expected it to be hard to control or use. This gives you the ability to move the camera from the handle and the screen is large and clear. You can save video or pictures to the card provided without having to download apps like on a phone. I got this because I was showing water damage in a hard-to-reach place, and I wanted to see what was going on behind the wall. This allowed me to pinpoint the area of the leak without having to tear out my whole wall.

Very easy to put together just screw on the little monitor. Comes with a usb cord to charge this unit, crystal clear picture and has a toggle switch so you can control the direction of the lens. A little expensive but get the job done

Really like this 360° Articulating Borescope tool from Kentfaith. It is very light weight (case & all weigh under 3 Lbs) which is great because it is a tool that you hold in just the one hand to use and may often use in situations where you have to hold it upwards, if you were looking at something in an ceiling for example, so being lightweight is important.

Most of this item is a hardened good quality plastic and it is pretty durable. It fits really good in your hand and there is not too much weight one way or the other so it stays pretty stable in your hand while using it as well. It is great that the Video Screen portion has the ability to separate from the handheld portion as you are able to tuck it away in the storage case that is provided with it for safe keeping. The storage case is ok, but wish it was a little more durable. There is a cheap sticker on the front of the case which keeps trying to bubble as if it were going to come off, I tried to show this in the video i provided. I know it is just a sticker on the case, but i wish it had looked a little better.

Charging is no problem, comes with a cord but you need your own charger. There is a great information booklet with this item and it is an easy read which i appreciated, they even have color photos in the booklet. That to me was a very nice touch.

There is a removable clear plastic covering on the view screen which has the explanation of what the buttons on the Camera portion do. I really appreciated this because while you are learning how to use it i can just refer to the instructions on the screen instead of going to the booklet all the time. And once i learn and remember what the buttons are all for then i can simply remove the plastic info sheet. But it honestly does not even really get in the way. In the Video i have provided you can see me using the screen with the plastic sheet still on it. so as you can tell, its basically almost invisible and not bothersome at all. Plus, you can notice that while testing the camera view it was even able to view far across the room and very clear, Pretty impressive!.

Over all great item with amazing video cam quality image, The toggle control takes some getting used to as it is a little on the sensitive side but the camera head is incredibly agile so you can really get some amazing view angles with this scope. I would defiantly recommend this product.

This borescope is not a cheap borescope that you can pick up and see left or right, this thing is well made and well designed. You are able to articulate in all directions and flip your view if necessary. The monitor can be charged via USB-C and batter life is quite long. Everything you need comes in a nicely packaged case. The screen screws onto the scope and once powered on, the light comes on and the camera is live. It is really easy to operate and really intuitive. You can get into really difficult places to see what is going on and snap some photos on your way and when you get there. The image is nice and crisp and light provides enough light to see what is going on. There are so many things that are great and helpful with this borescope, the only downfall is the price. While it is not as expensive as its competitors, I think the price of these tools keeps them out of the reach of most shade tree mechanics. They are very helpful and I think are worth the investment, but if you are only using one occasionally, you may be able to get by with a less expensive one. If you find you would be using it more often and you ready to drop a little more money for one, this is definitely worth your consideration.

I've been using this handheld endoscope monitor specifically for inspecting my 2000 Porsche 986 Boxster's engine, and it's been quite a mixed experience. On the positive side, the large IPS screen is a real standout feature. When I'm checking for bore scoring, having a 4.3" IPS LCD screen with crisp, clear visuals is incredibly convenient, and I don't need any external software or apps, which is a huge plus. The rechargeable and replaceable battery is also a game-changer in this context, as it eliminates the need to replace the entire borescope and provides up to 6 hours of usage time, ensuring I can thoroughly inspect the engine.

However, there are a couple of drawbacks to consider, especially when using it in the car. The modular structure, while touted as a benefit, can be somewhat finicky during inspections. Replacing the snake tube and screen can sometimes feel less secure than I'd like, which can be distracting while examining the engine. Additionally, while the high-temperature protection feature is ideal for automotive inspections, it can be a bit limiting in the confined spaces of the engine compartment. Getting the right angles for a comprehensive view can be challenging and time-consuming.

In my car, this endoscope helps me pinpoint any potential issues in the engine, such as bore scoring. The large screen and long battery life are essential for this task, but I do need to be cautious about the modular design's limitations, especially when navigating the tight spaces under the hood. Despite these challenges, it has proven to be a valuable tool in saving me both time and money during my home mechanic weekend warrior car inspections.

I've had some professional exposure to high end articulating borescopes in the aviation industry, and these were typically out of reach (financially speaking) to the average consumer. It amazes me to see many quality offerings now available at affordable price levels. I couldn't pass up the chance to check this one out. Overall, I am really impressed with the quality and functionality of this Kentfaith borescope. It comes packaged in a decent plastic case with a good instruction manual. The scope assembles easily and is very intuitive to use. Control of the articulating camera tip is not the most fluid and controllable I've used in much more expensive machines, but I would rate it very good, and certainly capable of just about anything more expensive units can accomplish. The picture quality and screen image quality are also very good with a generous depth of focus. The quality of the build and materials (e.g. plastic housings, fit, finish) is good and commensurate with my expectations at this price point. I like that the rechargeable battery is accessible and replaceable, if needed. The unit has capability to store images which is very handy for those needing to document findings. The lighting intensity is adjustable for optimal illumination. I tested this with a plumbing project I'm currently working on to inspect a fitting in an extremely tight space and it worked flawlessly. This is a lot of technology at an affordable price, and a real game changer for the pro or DIY mechanic that wants excellent performance without breaking the bank. Highly recommended.

I ordered this because I'm restoring a 2004 Ford, and after replacing many parts, the engine seized.

That said, this arrived as described and on time. Conversely, for anyone who has endeavored on a restoration nightmare, I mean hobby. Then you'll be familiar with the phrase; you won't know what you'll need till you end up needing it.

I have a regular boroscope that has been a trusty and handy tool. Unfortunately, because it doesn't articulate and it's not a 360° camera view.

I had to bring my project to a standstill because I could not get past specific diagnostic points with the engine seizure.

Therefore, when this opportunity presented itself, I didn't hesitate. The scope works better than I imagined. I expected a more significant learning period because of the joystick.

Side note: I'm not a gamer and have terrible joystick capabilities. However, this was easy to operate, and within a few minutes, you'll get the hang of it.

The ability to get into the engine through the spark plug cavity and get a 360° view makes this worth every penny.

If I can diagnose the exact problem, it saves me an exponential amount of time, especially the deeper I get into the rabbit hole and run into the infamous area of specialty tools.

I'm convinced this tool should be one of your first tools. Getting an inside look without disassembly is worth its weight in gold.

This is an excellent tool with an exponential value at a great price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

360 degree free articulation is fantastic. Shocked by how far consumer borescopes have come in only a few years.
