Filter is well made and feels solid in the hands. I like it has the textured grip on to the edges to make it easier to screw and unscrew. This quarter strength black diffusion filter provides just the right amount of diffusion to the highlights without being overbearing. I feel like any more, and it would be obvious that you have a filter on, but any less, it would go unnoticed. Useful bit to have in your kit.

Well made filter. I got the 1/4 filter in 72mm size. Great for portraits....gives a softer edge and a slight glow on the highlights. This is subjective, but I wouldn't go any stronger on the filter strength, and in fact, you might want to consider the 1/8 strength filter. Too strong a filter like this makes your photos were taken at an '80s Glamor Shot booth at the mall...

These are considerably cheaper than the tiffen black pro mist filters, they are much thinner, and seem to have pretty much exactly the same performance when shot side by side

Image quality and sharpness aren't compromised with this filter, unlike other cheap mist filters. The light diffusion is very soft, perfect for giving the desired look.

I do weddings and engagements and this softens portraits slightly without making them look out of focus. It seems to reduce the contrast mildly and adds a nice effect. I don't use it all the time, but it does seem to enhance portraits.
