Fit my canon rebel eos t3i lens perfectly, the filter was easy to install and the lens cap fits directly over it if you don't want to take it off to put it away right away. It is a lot of fun to play with, giving a dreamy lightly glowy effect to the photos, and depending on the lighting it will be more or less blurry. For taking portraits it is really nice and little to no editing is needed after. I am in love with this new filter. A new tool in my bag for sure.

Truth be told, I wasn't expecting this filter to be great because K&F is more a middle in the road brand for photography.

Also if there are other reviews using the term "black mist," then they should be educated that's a marketing term coined by another well known brand that rhymes with "Diffen." The actual term for these types of filters are halation/diffusion filters. There are white and black halation filters and this filter would be categorized under black halation filters. Using these types of filters is a stylistic choice as it will REDUCE the overall sharpness and contrast (softens) of your image and blooms your highlights.

Perfect for that dreamy/filmic look if you want to evoke a sense of nostalgia. However, do note that that this effect can be detrimental if you overuse it. Luckily, this is a fairly subtle (weak) halation filter so it will still soften skin tones but won't be distracting. I like it because images are still fairly sharp but I get some blooming. This is a great price for a filter of this quality, which is kinda surprising. K&F is really stepping up their game on this.

Side note: Other manufacturer's have different measurement on the strength of their diffusion but generally 1/2 is good if you don't want to be subtle at all.

This is a very well made diffusion filter and the glass and coatings are of excellent quality. I ordered a set of K&F diffusion filters for one of my lenses that is part of a camera kit that I received as a gift (my "fancy" camera that I am still learning about). I'm still fairly new to DSLRs in general and lens filters in particular, but now that I have seen some of the effects I can get with some of the filters I have purchased for this kit, I have been working on building up a nice collection for all of my cameras. I have several UV and ND filters from this brand and they seem every bit as good as the older name brand lenses I purchased for my film cameras years ago (for a photography class I was taking at the time). So I didn't hesitate to order this filter for one of the lenses in my more basic camera kit, the one that I use with more confidence. I like to take close-up pictures of flowers, leaves and insects as well as of my pets and I really like how this filter softens edges and seems to emphasize contour and color. I chose the 52 mm lens and it is very thin and light and threads on to my lens easily. The filter arrived carefully packaged like everything from this brand and included a sturdy hinged protective case. I think the price is great for a lens filter of this quality.

K&F always delivers good quality and well-built products. This lens filter is no different. The filter softens the overall look, without killing the contrast, or the dynamic range of the shot.

There are very few filter makers that I would trust to adjust my focus with an attachment and K&F is one of my favorites.

Fiters are very thin and nicely built.
Mounted on my favorite NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR. Creamy and dream like image, but not too much. Once I buy a step down ring, I'll try on my anamorphic lenses for video. How exciting.
Loves effects and you don't have to spent $400 + for one of those Velvet lens (which I have a couple).
Love it!

If you want to know what shooting with this filter looks like and you wear glasses, just let your glasses get really dirty with drywall dust. Every becomes softer and less detailed. If that the look you are after, this filter provides it in spades. It's a well made filter and doesn't cause any optical issues (apart from the intentional softening). No color shifts or added flares. With the 82mm version I saw no noticeable vignetting either. The knurling is well done as well. I'm impressed by the quality of this filter and will be looking at other K&F filters in the future.

I use to make my living, in San Francisco, shooting photography and creating art. So, I tend to be very demanding of my equipment. But those demands are tempered by reason.

This black diffusion filter, with very smooth threads and solid construction, by its design nature, alters the image your sensor, and glass, would normally make. And that's good. Today's camera's tend to be super sharp and they create crispy images.

Sometimes, to get the proper feel that you're going for, you want to knock down that sharpness, and specular highlights, a bit. That's where this filter comes in.

It does a great job of almost imperceptibly taking the edge off.

I can see myself using this filter a lot for night shots and for video shooting.

5 stars. One heck of a good price for a filter that performs very well.

This filter creates such a nice, subtle difference that every filmmaker will appreciate. It's not big and over-the-top. If you show your friends who aren't into cameras, they probably won't even see the difference, but you'll definitely notice a difference in your footage. It blooms the highlights so nicely and creates such a pleasing look without creating any kind of unwanted color cast on the image. Likewise, the build quality of this filter is great and I appreciate the little ridges on the sides of the filter for gripping it more easily when taking it on and off. Overall, I'm really happy with this and I would definitely recommend it.
