I generally despise anything that requires I download and use an app. However, having used multiple dash cams in the past, the app is far better than trying to figure out the janky menus on cams.

I tried an Onn dash cam from Walmart and it was complete junk. It turned on and off all the time during every trip, made a lot of loud noise you couldn't turn off, and had a bright screen that you couldn't adjust. It was also impossible to pull footage off it without using a computer, and if you did you had to use your own software to convert it to a file format that would play. None of that helps me if I get into an incident on the road, so I came to Amazon for something highly rated.
This M300 is light years ahead, and cheaper than the Walmart junk too. First of all it's very small, tucks behind the rear view mirror perfectly, and has no screen to distract you while you're driving, just a green light that shows it's recording. Picture quality is great, you'd have no trouble making out the numbers on a license plate or showing a person's face. It makes some noises when you turn your car on and off but it's easy to turn those off in settings, and it never makes any noise during a drive. Easy to operate with just one button. Pulling the footage is also easy. You just sign into the wifi network the device broadcasts, then open the app and you can view everything that's on the card, and choose to download only the clips you need to your phone. It would be no problem to recover footage and send it out after an accident, and that's what you need with this type of device. Paired it with a 128gb Samsung micro SD card, and so far I've been recording every drive for almost two weeks, still don't need to format the card!

Someone crash my vehicle and the lady lied to the cops saying it was my fault, but...
This dashcam saved me , it proved that it has her fault and the cop gives her a ticket.
The only downside is that it takes too long to download the video.

Records and uploads to phone. Sometimes it over heats and restarts so try to put it in a shadier spot.
