This filter was missing from my range. A variable ND filter basically consists of two polarizing filters that are rotated against each other. A normal VND filter has the disadvantage that the polarizing effect can have negative effects on photos or videos. This VND/polarizing filter, however, lets you rotate the ND value after you have set it to adjust the strength of the polarizing filter and it is as simple as it is ingenious. I use this filter to take photos of cars and I am really impressed with it. The quality is very good, as is typical for K&F. I did not notice an X-pattern, which is often the case with very inexpensive VND filters. The ND stop markings are precisely applied. The coating on the filter is very helpful when cleaning the filter and prevents lens flares. All in all, I am very satisfied with the filter and can warmly recommend it.

I've had many filter systems, from very expensive to really cheap. This filter is on the lower end, but the quality is at a premium level! I'm really impressed and have made it a permanent part of my gear.

have a good set of NISI filters, but I find that I'm using this much more often. It is so much easier to use when you are on the move. I was on a photography holiday in the West of Ireland lately and just kept this filter on my Z6 Nikon camera. The polariser took out the washed out colour of the sunny sky and sea. I used the ND filter for sunsets, as I prefer not to have the full sun in the shot to avoid glare, but still get the lovely colour of the sky. The filter leaves no colour cast. I have also found the filter very good at darkening waterfalls sufficiently to get that nice smooth water effect.

Despite slight deterioration in image sharpness especially on longer focal distances, as well as a CPL performance weaker than a standalone solution, for the relatively lower price the filter is well-built, rotates easily, and packs good performance when it comes to combining both ND and CPL filters without having to stack them.
