The adaptor itself seems to work fine. I've used it with lenses like the Helios 44M 58mm and Helios 28mm wide-angle with much success. However after shooting with it for several days, I've noticed maybe a dozen fine metal particles covering my A7ii's sensor. I can't be certain whether the particles came from a lens or the adaptor itself, but it might be a good idea to leave one of these adaptors on each M42 lens you have, or purchase a more expensive one that won't wear.

1 star missing because it doesn’t really work well with the Takumar 50 1.4 (the lens doesn’t focus to infinity as others have mentioned). The other four stars are because otherwise it is built well and I’m sure will work with most other lenses. Using it on a Sony A7R III and it gives me nice and sharp images even with that sensor so well machined I’d say. Although I also have the same brand adapter on a Fuji XT2 and it still focussed to infinity (though it did get a little stiff at that end) so I’m not sure if they’re all manufactured exactly the same or it there is a difference from version to version. All in a all a good product.

Worked great for all my M42 lenses. Worked for even the lenses that have autofocus and need the trigger pushed by the flange to be able to adjust the aperture manually. My other M42 adapter does not have a flange to accommodate these lenses. Good build quality as well.

Excellent adapter, does exactly as it should. I can now use my selection of M42 lenses on the Sony A7ii the way they should be used.

Works perfectly! Many people are frustrated saying that the threads do not line up, or that this adapter will not work with Super Takumar lenses because of the lip. Well, it worked just fine for me!Vintage lenses are such a blast to shoot with, and this adapter is a great (minuscule) investment. The build quality is excellent, and it attaches very securely. I got this to be able to use my grandfathers lens ( which had not been used for over 30 years!) on my new sony a6000. I orginaly got the wrong adaporter as the discription got me very confused ( which was my fauly as I am still learning about lens) After returning it and getting a new one i now can easily use my grandpas lens and I love it!

It came with a tiny screw mounted on the adapter that needs to be taken out in order for the mount to fit.I am not sure what that screw can do and there were no document came with it to explain. Besides that it works just fine like others.
