Compound Trinocular Microscope 40X-5000X Magnification for Lab, Biology, Education, Electronic Eyepiece and Mechanical Stage, WF10x and WF25x Eyepieces, Abbe Condenser
SKU: GW45.0066
The customer service was great and overall the microscope works well. However I was disappointed that the camera doesn't photograph the entire field of view. It seems to photograph about 1/20th of the field of view on low power (even smaller on higher power).

I ordered this microscope for myself, because as a biology major, I have interest in microbiology and have always wanted a microscope. This is actually a pretty nice microscope. It has all the features you would expect from a microscope marketed at labs for college students. I don't see this as a scope for serious research and so I don;t think you'd see this in a CDC lab or anything like that, but as a bargain microscope for student labs and home hobbyists, it is very good. Mine did not come with the camera, so I cannot comment on that. I like the case it comes with, but I do wish the case had additional padding - the stage lever for holding slides punched a hole completely through the foam packing material. Other than that, I think this is a good bargain microscope.

Good quality, a nice set of accessories, the camera works well, good resolution.
Only that the metal piece that holds the slide was a bit bent.

This compound trinocular microscope had everything I was looking for and then some. It came with multiple WF10x and WF25x eyepieces, 2x magnifying lenses, and even a USB CMOS camera eyepiece that made connecting to my computer easy and enjoyable. The adjustable diopter and pupil distance made it comfortable to use — no more squinting like I’m trying to read ancient scrolls through a peephole. It also included a gadget for attaching my cell phone if I wanted to use that as my camera instead of a laptop or desktop computer.
The optical quality was promising, with a real 195 achromatic objective lens system that claimed up to 5000x magnification and crisp imaging thanks to color correction - it was interesting to rotate the color corrector and see cell walls change from blue to yellow, etc. The LED lighting, dual coarse/fine focus, and swiveling head made it feel like a professional lab tool, not just a hobbyist gadget. Of course more professional users would likely consider this to be subpar -- it's not the quality you might find in a school laboratory setting for instance. And the starter kit was very nice. It came loaded with useful extras — slides, coverslips, tweezers, air blower, etc.
So why 4 stars instead of 5? Unfortunately, I had to return it due to a defect — there was some internal debris in the optics that caused dark spots in every field of view. No matter what slide I used, it looked like little black clouds were photobombing my observations. I don’t think bacteria are supposed to cast shadows.
Still, if you get a clean, defect-free unit, this microscope is an incredible deal for the price — ideal for labs, classrooms, or any curious mind wanting to take a deeper look at the microscopic world.

I like this microscope. I do work in the lab and love looking at things at the microscopic level. This microscope was bought for fun. Nothing serious. I love that it comes with different magnifying attachments. The best part is looking on my phone at the magnified specimen. It is lightweight and easy to carry in it's carrying case. The slide holder is a bit loose but I can fix it. Good but not great but still 5 stars

.
Very operational. Great quality and looks.
What a difference triocular makes. Best of both worlds. VERY pleased with the operation.
Fortunately, I did not order this specifically for the camera operation. It's not "national geographic" results. It's not terrible. For reference, the quality of images are OK at best.
The instruction "manual" is a meandering attempt. I get the impression it was written by a technical writer that had never seen a microscope in their life, much less a triocular unit. Was this "manual" compiled from notes scribbled on napkins by the engineers and handed to the writer to make sense of it all ? The probability is relative.
However, that said - don't let that discourage ordering this marvelous macular machine. I'm quite pleased with the operation and what a value it is for me.

As someone who has used much more expensive scopes in my undergrad labs, this scope keeps up with them easily. Great value for the money. I'm using this one for recreational use.

Very impressed with the quality of the optics.
The construction is definitely sturdy.
The only "con" I can really think of is that the binoculars don't come with eye cups, but that's about it.
Either way I'm definitely impressed with how well this is designed and built, and would definitely recommend!
