This is a great protection filter for an expensive lens. I recently ordered a set of diffusion filters from K&F Concept for one of my lenses and was very happy with the quality of the glass and the workmanship. I didn't hesitate to order this UV filter when it became available. I ordered the 55mm version for a standard Nikkor lens that was part of a DSLR kit. Years ago I used UV filters on my film camera lenses, but I'm just beginning to learn how to use digital cameras. I imagine this might help with some outdoor shots, but I was primarily interested in just protecting my lens. This filter is thin, light weight and very easy to attach to my lens. The optical quality of the AGC glass made in Japan is very high. My images are sharp and I can't see any aberrations in the glass. I appreciate that this filter is shock resistant, water resistant, and especially scratch resistant, as it's surprisingly easy to damage a lens or get it wet or dirty (and they're not that easy to clean). It's nice to keep dust off my lens and not have to worry so much about something happening to it so all I can think about is shooting. I have several other lenses of different sizes that also need protection filters and I will certainly look for this brand. I also like the sturdy storage box that this lens came in. This is a simple UV filter. It seems to protect the camera sensor well from UV rays and does not affect the image quality

UV filters are much more useful for film because UV radiation affects film much more. However, this is still useful for protection, both from UV rays if you shoot a lot, and from dust and other particles. In most cases there is almost no visible difference between the on and off lens. So if you want a little more protection for your lens, this is perfect for you.

While a clear filter might not be the most exciting piece of camera gear, it can prove valuable when it comes to protecting your expensive lens investment. This filter is optically clear and does not add a color cast. From my readings I hardly see any loss of light, nor have I encountered any internal reflections. The filter has some recessed grips on the outside that make installation and removal easier. Many of my older filters got stuck and were difficult to remove, but I don't expect that with this one. It's not overly thin, but I didn't detect any vignetting with it on the wide end of my 24-70 Lumix S Pro lens. If you tend to shoot in harsh environments or places where there may be contact with your front lens element, this is something you should seriously consider. It's affordable protection that's well worth it.

Made from high quality materials. Precision built. It offered the least amount of resistance I've had when screwing on a new filter. It's very thin so it doesn't interfere with wide-angle lenses (as much as possible). Using a full-frame DSLR, I made side-by-side pixel-level comparisons between shots with and without a filter. One photo was a wide angle shot of the included sky on a high UV day. Results: Well, I didn't see any difference in color or richness in the high-UV shot, so I wouldn't buy it just for that. Most of the time, people just buy these as lens protectors (and believe me, they've saved my bacon a number of times on high-end lenses now!). As a lens protector, you want it to be as unobtrusive as possible, and I'm happy to report that I can't tell a significant difference in any test shot - color balance, sharpness, contrast - they're all so close I've never been could definitely say that every tiny difference was due to the filter.

If you are looking for quality protection for your lens, at this price point, K&F Concepts is hard to beat. The quality of the materials, fit and finish. And the overall clarity and protection of this product provides a fantastic way to keep a variety of things from getting to and damaging your more expensive lens. It is a great comfort to me to have a guard that does its job so well that I don't even know it's there until it's successfully protected me. Overall this product is very well made, it fits my lens perfectly and does a fantastic job at what it is supposed to do. If you need UV or more importantly damage protection then this is a great choice which I would highly recommend at this price point. I know some people aren't fans of putting glass on glass, but often when you rent a lens it will have a protective filter on it. I needed something to protect my 35 1.8s lens for Nikon. That allows me to do that. Image quality remains solid. I just wish the case where this came in wasn't so big.

Perfect for protecting my lens. No chromatic alteration and no color change. Reasonable price!
