This is worth paying more. I did a comparison of uv5r (made sure seller is Amazon in order to get genuine one) vs this one. Hands down this has better reception quality.

Works well! Manual is much better than earlier baofengs. Good sound quality and interface is well designed.

Love these radios. I now have two of these. Great alternative comms once you have your FCC license. I have one that I use daily and one in my emergency kit.

I bought two of these for my business. They’re easy to operate right out of the box. The volume is great And loud and clear. One employee accidentally took one home and he lived a mile away, so we called him on the radio and worked great! These are the vest radios on the market. Well worth the price.

1. The price is very reasonable.2. The size is compact but not so small that my fingers hit the wrong buttons.3. Has all of the features of more expensive rigs and a few extras.4. Quality seems good so far. I haven't had it long enough to see if battery life is good.5. Battery doesn't seem to run down very fast.6. Includes a nice desk charger.Negatives:1. The biggest negative is programming directions. I struggled with the manual directions and finally searched online until I found simple step-by-step directions posted by another amateur radio operator who had purchased the same rig.I would recommend this product.

I tested the range on these radios Sunday. We were 9 miles apart and still had clear communication. Great price and excellent radios. If you want reliable comms, this should be your choice.
