without a proper mic, no audio interface
- i use ableton, and i've only made beats and instrumentals so far, but i've wanted to sing/rap over them.
- how can i make that sound good without a proper mic, no audio interface, and using for example my phone, or my laptop?
- i don't know if it's a stupid question but it would help me.

phone mic is definitely the best bet
- phone mic is definitely the best bet - put in headphones, tap loud when you hit record so it's picked up on the phone mix as well and then when you record you can just cut the clip at that tap point so it'll be in sync
- or he could record on voice memos and send it… or any other recording software…
- phones these days do have some more capability.
- try recording just the vocals on the phone (cover the mic with a sock or maybe a thin latex material) and then have a padded room for no reverb, then record the vocals, then export them and line them up.
- count like 1,2,3,4, do a count off with the metronome so you can line it up later.

in the meantime though, just use your phone
- short answer : it won’t sound good without proper equipment
- how can i make that sound good without a proper mic
- can't reasonably expect great results if you dont do things properly
- in the meantime though, just use your phone and do the best you can (try not to clip the audio, perhaps its some good phone audio apps that will assist you with this)
- drop wav into your daw and clip gain manually to level out the vocal, edit you vocal by removing any unnecessary breathes, silence dead spaces, engage the high pass filter, eq the vocal, add some compression to bring the vocal out
- when you are able to upgrade redo the vocals properly
