GoPro HERO 8 Black VS GoPro HERO 7 Black
Compared with GoPro Hero 7, the GoPro Hero 8 Black is actually larger. The reason for that is the built-in foldable mount which allows directly mounting the accessories such as selfie sticks, suction cups without any extra frames.

Video anti-shake comparison
DJI OSMO Action features with RockSteady anti-shake function while The GoPro HERO 8 Black's GP1 processor provides HyperSmooth 2.0 shake resistance.
1: HyperSmooth works at any resolutions and frame rates.
2: 3 HyperSmooth levels: Normal, High, Boost.
In this video, both the camera's anti-shake mode are on. We can see that they both have excellent electronic anti-shake function. But it is obvious that to that DJI OSMO Action has a noticeable dealing process when the lens moves, and some frame drops. The GoPro Hero 8 Black can naturally deal with the movements.
In this video, we turn on the "enhanced" anti-shake mode of the GoPro Hero 8 Black. Although the viewing angle is somewhat narrower, the anti-shake effect of the video is quite obvious, comparable to the effect of using a video stabilizer.
The amazing part is that the GoPro Hero 8 Black isn't equipped with any mechanical equipment to provide stability.
As for the video quality, we filmed some videos in the same camera position. We cut one of the frames and zoomed in to 100% for comparison.

SCREENSHOT OF OSMO Action

First, the GoPro Hero 8 Black retains darker and highlight details than the DJI OSMO Action. From the architectural details, we can find out the GoPro Hero 8 Black is superior to DJI Osmo Action in video resolution.
On the GoPro Hero 7 Black, the highest bitrate is 78Mbps, while on the GoPro Hero 8 Black, when you're recording 2.7 K or 4K video, the bitrate is 100Mbps, so there's a bit of an advantage in picture quality.
Still Image comparison
